ENTER THE MLS

You are about to enter the client version of the San Francisco Multiple Listing Service (MLS), the most powerful San Francisco property search engine available.

The MLS is the same search engine I use, except mine is an agent version with more tools. For example, you can search for properties currently for sale, but not properties that have sold. Except in rare situations, you have access to all properties currently available San Francisco.

If you want to limit the neighborhoods that are searched, you can search for property two ways. At the bottom of the page you can search by zip codes. The other, more exact way is by "Districts-Subdistricts", which align with natural neighborhood boundries better than zip codes.

The program does not explain what neighborhoods the District numbers correspond to. Here is a simplification of the most commonly used District numbers. Once you have a District entered, you can refine further with Subdistricts.

Districts:
1- Richmond
2- Sunset
4- St. Francis Woods, West Portal, Miraloma Park, Sunnyside, etc.
5- Noe Valley, Eureka Valley/Castro, Cole Valley, Haight, and in between.
6- Lower Pacific Heights to Hayes Valley.
7- Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, Cow Hollow, Marina.
8- Russian, Nob and Telegraph Hills, many others north of Market and east of Van Ness.
9- SOMA, Potrero, Bernal, Mission
